I love taking people on adventures.
Whether it's finding out the story of the belly-dancer who became a religious fundamentalist, or why an 85-year-old Vegas woman is still trying to work as a stripper, or venturing into a beehive to discover the art of honey-making, I love walking people through the story: Other people's as well as my own, from searching for gorillas in Africa to going under a Beverly Hills' surgeon's knife, to visiting a Kabbalist rabbi to get a blessing for marriage. Life is sad, funny, heartbreaking, and always, always changing.
Over the last fifteen years as a journalist, I've covered everything from arts & culture to health & travel, including business, politics, lifestyle and business. My work has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Salon, Slate, NPR, MSN, BBC Travel, Brain World Magazine, The Forward and even Hustler Magazine.. I've lived in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Israel. And I've traveled from Ukraine to Uganda, Switzerland to Arizona in search of a story.
